This was Concept/Commission #12

Concept was for a Massive double barreled Pistol firing what is in essence a Miniaturized WH40K bolt like projectile (may upload that detail & cut away image later).

Though I'm quite proud of some parts of this image, some of it still irks me and I'll probably be nitpicking on parts into infinity. Projectile is 21x60mm Gyrojet round with a cartridge based Kicker/Ignitor/Unseating charge.

Looks like something that Hellboy probably had already used before.

One shot - one corpse

It looks like it has far more kick-charge behind each bolt than a bolter, too.  That'll be a great help to make up for the short barrels.  Though, I don't know if you intended it that way.
KingOfCopper16 Featured By Owner Jul 17, 2014
wow now that is the perfect mix! shotgun and bolter! :D

This is awesome! I've always had a soft spot for wicked big pistols! I doubt this thing would break your arm on firing though. I've one handed a 12 gauge with 3" magnum slugs and did fine, besides the gyrojet would mean less initial kick. I don't think gyrojets turned out to be that effective back in the day when they were actually made, but with modern or post modern materials you might be able to get it to work.

...i like it! I don't usually like hand cannons, and most drawings of them add the sin of impossibility, but I like this!

Say goodbye to your wrist! :-)

You could easily replace those sci-fi cartridges with real world shells. :-)

i really like the design,

It looks good...but Gyrojet rounds are in a word crap. A heavier lock for the break action would be a good idea and if it were say a .357/.38 special or a 30-30 would be good.
bullshark45 Featured By Owner Dec 16, 2011
this thing would probably kick back into your face and break your face

Love it. Makes a nice BFG for a hero.
VegaofTheBlackFlame Featured By Owner Dec 21, 2010
I want one. I'd love to get my hands on some schematics for this thing, except maybe chamber it in 12-gauge or perhaps .50AE. Only change I'd make would be to flip the fire selector order; rather than the single shot being on top, I'd put it in the middle. That way, if you're in a tense situation and you wanna go both barrels, you don't risk accidentally putting the safety on.

sweet, large kick back but hell of lot of damage
DJNERD Featured By Owner Jul 24, 2010
Because the round is rocket based, does that mean that the weapon would be recoiless like the Gyrojet weapons?
ArturiusMaxwell Featured By Owner Jun 11, 2010
I don't know what I've been told but big bullets in my gun help loads!

Stunning. Spec on measurements would be great!

Very good.

I want one.
fredrikslicer Featured By Owner Jun 11, 2010
WOW! Where do you think I can get me one of those?
DanBoldy Featured By Owner Jun 11, 2010  Hobbyist General Artist
I'm assuming your fire-selector switch on the top profile decides whether the trigger fires both barrels simultaneously or singly? I'dv expected a double-trigger instead, but nevermind :D
Silverlion Featured By Owner Jun 11, 2010
Very neat.

Of course, one of the reasons the Gyrojet never made it is because it was so inaccurate.
lemmonade Featured By Owner Aug 27, 2010
in the future guidence systems will correct this, as well as proved a sort of "homing bullet" function

.... Does it come in a Four barreled style?

Or as a magazine fed rifle? XD

Also what the hell woudl ever require that kind of personal fire power? people in powered armor?

Pretty Much.

Any plans for diagrams of the other fun and family friendly ammo types?

like incendiary or flettchet?

Overall looks good.

Only thing I see that looks funky is the thumb safety on most handguns has the safe position as up, and the down position as fire.

It would be up to you whether you think the all the way down (gross motor movement) position is better for double fire or single.

Seems with the scale and such this would probably be a lot like a .500 S&W or .454 Casul. Maybe even a .270 rifle cartridge being fired out of a revolver (such weapons exist). So not unmanageable even in dual fire.

Elements of short barrelled Cinergy there. I always did like over and under shotguns, still, I love the idea of Rifle cartridges instead.
sharp-n-pointy Featured By Owner Sep 18, 2008  Hobbyist Digital Artist
I am amazed you recognized the Cynergy references in it, good spotting.
